What makes them special among this jungle of colors. Well, it is my search for the extra ordinary and unique. You are looking at a handwoven wool on wool natural dye vintage Konya carpet which I would comfortably say this is the 'Sex Pistols' of its era singing 'God Save the Queen' at a time where Beatles and Elvis Presley were the most popular. This carpet is Michael Jackson of Jackson 5. Definitely not a Stevie Wonder or Lionel Ritchie. All its charm is hidden in the God given natural skills. This carpet is made by a master weaver. Someone who had weaved everything before, made all the motifs and used all the materials. Someone trained many other weavers. Someone who had some edge in her personality. This is a consequence of her search for the different. One copy carpet possibly will never have a similar one forget about an exact copy. This is a carpet even I find it hard to interpret its message but I personally believe thats what the weaver wanted. She wanted the owner of the carpet to have her/his own interpretation. She didn't want it to be a cliche. Like Syd Vicious of the Sex Pistols, she didn't care if this carpet was commercially attractive or would sell easily. She had her own attitude. Didn't care about money, And if she weaved this carpet on her own, it must have taken at least a year of her life. Approximately 50-60 years old in very good condition.
