Graphite/Carbon Rod is used to stir your precious metals, scrap metals, while melting. The carbon rod is used when melting metals with Torch, in Gas or Electric Melting Furnaces. Rod is used for stirring and mixing the molten metal in order to get a good homogenous mix of the alloys in Gold, Silver, Brass. Carbon stirring rods are made of high density fine grain graphite. Pure Carbon Rod is a high heat tolerant graphite, used in the Melting Process as a stirring rod to stir molten metal, the graphite helps remove impurities and skim metal surfaces. NOTE: Not to be used for Platinum metal, Graphite will contaminate Platinum.
