In Turkey, flat-woven cotton towels called peshtemals are used in the bath and at the beach, for stretching out in the sun and wrapping up as evening falls. They can even host a picnic or drape the table. Inspired by that tradition, our Sutro coverlet and throw are woven with yarn-dyed stripes and designed for everyday versatility. Both are edged with hand-tied fringe. Made from organic cotton in a factory that recycles 98% of its wastewater. This item was inspired by California │At the western end of San Francisco, where the city meets the sea, you'll find the ruins of the Sutro Baths, where seven massive pools (six salt water and one fresh), complete with slides, swinging rings and a diving board, were once enclosed in a giant glass greenhouse. Today, fish, birds and other wildlife call the vestiges home.
