Crinum Lily, Catherine, medium-size bulb, NEW
DESCRIPTION
- Catherine has a pure white, trumped-shaped flower that has a slight pink blush on the outside of the bud that fades after the flower opens. We have recorded as many as 8 flowers on scapes up to 30" tall. It offsets moderately with mature bulbs forming 1 or 2 offsets each year. It is seed sterile, like most hybrids, but the pollen might be marginally fertile when used on other seed producing crinum.
- The large flowers are about 5" in diameter and it blooms April-November here in northeast Florida, zone 9. Our largest bulbs never exceed 2 1/2" in diameter, so it is small compared to most crinum. The flowers are sweetly fragrant. It has erect leaves and does not take up much space forming beautiful clumps if left undisturbed for many years.
- We grow over 1000 varieties of crinum including about 350 of our own hybrids. This is being offered on EBay for the first time in December 2013
