A vintage pewter thimble was used to make this adorable Christmas tree frog prince ornament. This frog has amazing details. Notice the bumps on his back, fat belly, little crown, and wonderful expression. The back is marked D.E. 91.

I cleaned, drilled, and polished a metal thimble. Two green crystal beads flanked by two silver-tone metal beads were wire wrapped to the thimble. A sturdy hoop suspends the piece from a piece of bright red ribbon. This older pewter thimble has a nice, shiny patina. The thimble and wire wrapped beads are 1 3/4 inches (45mm) in length while the string hangs an additional 3 inches (76mm). The total length of the ornament hangs 4 3/4 inches (121mm).
