Betts, United States Coast Guard ensign in World War II who served as USS Hunter Liggett Care Commandant in the 12th Naval District ,San Francisco,, original typed letter, war-date, sent from Betts to his parents back at home ,Schenectady, NY,, 1944. Betts describes his rooming quarters, "First of all, you ought to see our room now. We took another one two months ago, in order to be near an A.C. line so that we cna run the phonograph. Built a separate shelf for the thing, so now it reposes very nicely between the bunk and the desk and is not in the way. Next came another shelf to hold our steadily growing record collection." Accompanied by it's original mailing envelope with U.S. Navy cancelation. Fine condition.
