Bloom period begins in early May even before their leaves begin to unfurl. Foliage consists of leathery, medium to dark green oval leaves that are broader towards the short-pointed tip, 3-5 inches in length and turn bright yellow to orange or red in fall. Uses/Culture: Specimen planting, grouped in shrub borders, woodland and shade gardens, wildlife and native plant gardens, accent planting (texture, form), perennial beds and borders. Azaleas require a rich and acidic soil, plenty of moisture and good drainage for success. Excellent for use in under-plantings or in areas with partial sun exposure such as alongside a house, wall or fence. These early season bloomers are the perfect accompaniment for your spring flowering bulbs. Germination Requirements: Germination occurs in 2-3 weeks under warm, moist conditions. Ideal temperature for germination is 68F. Best grown on in a cold frame or greenhouse for the first season. Packaging: All of our seed varieties are hand packed and shipped in resealable poly bags to ensure the longest possible shelf-life for your seeds. With seed listings sold by weight, seed counts are given as an approximation. For best germination results, seeds should be stored in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight until planting time.
