Flower stalks appear from May to June supporting up to twelve brightly painted flowers. Among the hardiest of the gladiolas and also makes a good cut flower. Uses/Culture: Sunny beds and borders, pond margins, flood prone areas. Plant in full sun and rich, evenly moist soil for best performance; resents dry soils and periods of drought. Germination requirements: Germination occurs under cool, moist spring conditions, following periods of warm then cold stratification. Best sown to a cold frame in fall for germination to occur naturally in the spring.
