Hello and welcome. This is a handwoven naturally dyed woolen carpet from the city of Konya. Approximately 20 years old and in immaculate condition. Never used. This is actually what we call a 'new' carpet among the merchants. It is hard to present here with a few photos the weaving and wool quality on this carpet. Altough the carpet is from the city of Konya, she is not a typical of the city. It is not a classic and can be clasified as a modern carpet when compared to traditional carpets. 7.40 x 6.10 ft (226 x 186 cm). Quite large in size ideal for many use like living room or a bedroom. Nice welcoming, warm earthly colors. Bad photography of mine. I actually should re-photo this one as the photos do not reflect the beauty of this carpet. In 1292, Marco Polo was the first to make mention of the Konya carpets in writing when he called them the most beautiful in the world. Scholars and collectors alike, primarily for their bold tribal designs and magnificent color combinations not to mention their rarity, covet Konya rugs. Konya rugs are prized for their luxurious wool, which comes from the rural areas surrounding the city. The wool from these regions is known to be some of the richest worldwide.
