Rain Lily, Zephyranthes Labuffarosa 'Lily Pies', 3 bulbs, NEW
DESCRIPTION
- Zephyranthes labuffarosa 'Lily Pies' is another one of our favorite labuffarosa selections. It puts on quite a show and reminds us of baby girls for some reason, all healthy and rosy cheeked, thus the name "lullabies and lily pies". The large, blush-pink flowers are 2" in diameter and grow about 12" tall.
- It will quickly become one of your favorites. They form offset bulbs regularly, usually 2 at a time but only occasionally will set seed. The bulbs grow to about 1 1/4" in diameter. If you want a rain lily that will do well in shade, the labuffarosa varieties will do the trick! We have had blooms from June-October here in northeast Florida, zone 9.
- The Z. labuffarosa group of rain lilies are being introduced on eBay by us for the first time in 2014. See the other listings. Rain lilies bloom about 4 days after a rain. Blooms are stimulated by the nitrogen, which is created by lightning, and picked up in the raindrops. As of 2016 we grow around 375 different varieties of rain lilies (habranthus and zephyranthes).
