- The Blackberry Lily also known as Leopard Lily is an erect, rhizomatous perennial which grows 2-3' tall. Its lily-like deep orange blooms are heavily spotted with red dots and are 2" across. Flowers appear in early to mid summer in sprays aboue the folaige on wiry, naked stems. Sword shaped iris-like green leaves are in flattened fans.
- Flowers give to way to pear-shaped seed pods which split open when ripe, late summer, with each pod revealing a blackberry-like seed cluster, hence the common name BLACKBERRY LILY.They do well in mulched beds, FULL SUN, water medium, and are drought tolerate. Also are good for drying.
