Description: To be determined. Any input appreciated. Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Pierre Langlume' after 'Victor-Jean-Vincent Adam'. Pierre Langlume (born 1790) was a French 19th c. lithographer active in Paris ca. 1822-1840. He exposed at the salon in 1822 and 1824. Victor-Jean-Vincent Adam (1801-1867) was a French painter and lithographer, born in Paris. He was the son of Jean Adam, engraver, He studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, and at the workshops of Meynier and Regnault. He exposed at the salon frequently and was very succesful.
- Subject: Antique print, untitled. A priest / monk appears to have been arrested and led by soldiers on horseback. A troupe of bandits are waiting to ambush from behind a rock. Based on clothing style we believe this scene to be Italian, possibly Naples.
