Bernard-Romain Julien (1820-1871) was a French painter, designer and lithographer from Bayonne. Het was a student of Gros. He worked in Paris and exposed at the Salon from 1833-1850. He is particularly known for his published sets of drawing examples. Philippe de Champaigne (1602-1674) was a Brabançon-born FrenchBaroque era painter, a major exponent of the French school. He was a founding member of the Académie de peinture et de sculpture.
