Hello shopper, we need to be upfront about something. This beautiful table has a really cool story if you'll read a little further. A year ago, the top and shelf were part of a 90 foot bamboo tree in the middle of a massive forest in the Anji Mountains. It grew three feet per day then matured for six years, slowly turning harder than oak. Then it was forest certified and harvested, steamed and dried, bringing out the rich dark coloring. Today it's a richly colored side table surrounded by an 8 gauge steel frame. The coloring reminds of walnut, but even more so, the exotic Koa wood from the Hawaiian Islands, thus its name. Its denseness makes it heavy, the hand rubbed oil finish makes it bulletproof. Well not bulletproof, but able to withstand anything you throw at it.
