It's a fast-growing tree which reaches 30 to 40 feet high and wide. The well-spaced branches are clothed with pinnately compound leaves that are pretty even without the flowers. The leaves will drop from the tree for a short period of time and are quickly replaced by new ones. In spring and summer, this tree is decorated with thick clusters of showy pink and white blooms in large clusters that cover the branches. Very impressive in full bloom! Damaged at slightly below freezing, it recovers quickly in warm weather.
