The first in a series dedicated to those who have traveled abroad and moved to begin anew this is a first edition of a photo taken in the forest of Arashiyama, Kyoto. The strong repetition of the segmented bamboo stood out to me as each bamboo stalk grew into its own shape. I felt the need to capture it.
