Your words will be painted onto a 24" x 5.5" x 3/4" pine board that has a distressed layer of stain, and then two layers of painted words which have also been distressed.

The color of the stain is dark, so I chose black for the shadow color and antique white for the main lettering, as it compliments the wood tone that showes through the stain.
