I love making toys out of wood, and there seems to be a renewed interest in such toys. I have these trucks on sale in a local retail store and the store owner has told me that as soon as children see them they start playing with them. I think they like simple toys because they can use their imagination more than with complex toys. This dump truck is approximately 8 1/2" long by 2 1/2" wide and 5 3/8" high, and the dumper swings freely on a dowel rod shaft. I made the dump3 truck from solid poplar, and left it unfinished so that you can either paint it, or just leave it as is.
