You will receive a basket nearly identical to this one pictured, but please keep in mind every basket is uniquely handwoven and differs in design. In the Bolgatanga region of Ghana, these baskets are often used as a purse. Most of these have an interesting open weave, or net weave in the sides. The net style is more difficult to weave properly and adds visual interest to the baskets. Weavers in the region use the abundant Veta vera grass to weave these incredibly hardy, useful baskets. Please note that if color looks black on your screen, it is actually a very, very dark blue. Easily reshape your basket by quickly submerging in water, reshape by hand and hang to dry.
