This wonderful bowl was carved so thin it is translucent when held up to the light. The material is sugar maple that was harvested from the trunk of a fallen tree. The variation in color and tone are exceptional. This bowl was carved with an axe, an adze, and a variety of knives specially made for the job. It was treated in all natural food safe beeswax and flax oil. This bowl would make a wonderful candy dish or nut bowl. the bowl measures 7 3/4 inches long,4 1/2 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep.
