While it is commonly accepted scalp folliculitis may be caused by damaged hair follicles on the scalp or other parts of the body, healthy, undamaged hair follicles exposed to excessive heat and/or bacteria in perspiration produced by the excessive heat can also ignite dormant folliculitis in people who were not aware their scalp can produce this bacteria. On occasion, what before may have been sporadic bumps or acne on the scalp from time to time could potentially turn into severe painful folliculitis if conditions are amplified from exposure to excessive heat from closed, unventilated work hats or overproduction of perspiration that carries the bacteria that also block pores that in turn are unable to function properly. Instructions: For most effective and lasting results apply 4-5 times per day for 7-10 minutes during initial start of use and refrain from wearing wool or cotton hats or hats that cover scalp with little or no air circulation in favor of open air hats. After continued use, shampooing on scalp for 2-5 minutes and then rinsing off is sufficient. So as to prevent further damage to hair follicles, if follicles are extremely flared up( painful to touch) and/or with white decaying bacteria (pus) do not vigorously rub in shampoo to scalp, gently apply or dab on to scalp and rinse off a few times . Avoid agitating inflamed follicles as much as possible or expressing (popping them) as this will cause further follicle damage, let shampoo control the flare up. If wearing a hat is mandatory for work, clean/wash hat as often as possible or preferably daily or wear open ventilation hats such as trucker hats or as a last resort create air circulation holes into hat to lower ideal conditions for further folliculitis flare up. For better results as well as reducing risk of more Folliculitis flare ups, keep hair at maximum 3/8"-5/8" length while using this product and after discontinued use. Shake well before every use.
