Our wind driven, folk-art 'Whirligigs' (Twirlybirds) are all handmade. Crafted in the tradition of Old world Craftsmanship, and will provide enjoyment and amusement for all ages. Acting as a weather-vane, whirligigs indicate the intensity of the wind by the swiveling action of the wings, propeller, and figurines. Our Whirligigs are made of solid Southern Cypress, hand-crafted and assembled in the USA with solid brass hardware, and finished with durable acrylic patio paint. Each whirligig includes your choice of mounting pivot. Option 1 is a 3/4" copper pipe cap that fits 3/4" copper pipe... just go to you local hardware store and have them cut your desired length. 18-24" works great in a flower pot and 48-60" is great out in the yard or garden. The other option is 3/16" x 7" brass round bar, simply drill a 3/16" hole in a 4 x 4 post.

Lubricants: If you would like to lubricate moving parts, never use grease. Grease will attract dust and dirt. Oil the pivot or spinning parts using high viscosity oil with a precision needle applicator such as '3 in one' household oil.

IMPORTANT NOTE: ALTHOUGH CONSTRUCTED FROM DURABLE MATERIALS, MARQMYWOOD WHIRLIGIGS CANNOT BE EXPECTED TO PERFORM AND LAST WHEN EXPOSED TO VERY HIGH WIND, ICE, OR SNOW. THEY CAN BE DAMAGED IF NOT TAKEN DOWN IN EXTREME WEATHER. OUR WHIRLIGIGS ARE VERY EASY TO PUT UP, AND TAKE DOWN--JUST LIFT OFF THE PIVOT.
