Hichiriki is one of the instruments of gagaku, Japanese imperial court music. Although it is just a small flute but makes loud and unique sounds. Before playing it, the reed needs to be put into a cup of tepid tea until embouchure will open about 2mm (abo 0.04 inches). To make a sound, blow it like a balloon. This hichiriki is made of resin.
