Historic Wax Tablet with wood burnt vine design
DESCRIPTION
. Wax tablets were used from ancient Roman and Greek times thru the renaissance for everything from art design to industry records and inventory. They are panels of wood, carved out and filled with pigmented bee's wax. These are great for SCA members, renaissance festival enthusiasts, and anybody who needs a note pad. The tablet pictured here comes with a wooden stylus, but a metal stylus is also an option (see our Bronze Stylus listing). It measures 3.5 x 4.5 inches and will not melt unless brought to about 145 F or 62 C. Note: The wax tablet pictured here is a representative example of the tablets we make, since they are hand made from natural materials please expect some variation (difference in wood grain from the one pictured, etc.) from tablet to tablet. You can, however, expect consistency in size. All tablets ordered from this listing will measure 3.5 x 4.5 inches.
