- NOTE: The tongue weight of the trailer, when attached to the hitch, must not exceed 10 percent of the total trailer weight and its contents, with the maximum tongue weight not to exceed 30 lb. Also remember when pulling a trailer with a motorcycle, extra distance must be allowed for stopping and a slower speed used when cornering.
