The pads can disintegrate and may malfunction the motor if not changed. Troubleshooting Steps: 1. Remove the water tank, 2. there is a water valve at the base of the humidifier, Remove the cap by pulling it softly. 3. There is a plastic Washer ring inside, remove the ring, dry it off with a towel etc. Place the washer back in, put the water valve cap back on, MAKE SURE THE WATER VALVE IS PUSH IN TIGHTLY. 4. Put the water tank back on plug in the humidifier.
