Ivorine Monkshood is a hardy herbaceous perennial that performs best in northern climates. Deeply cut dark green leaves are born on bushy upright plants in early spring and provide good texture in the landscape. Dense racemes of hooded white blooms appear top sturdy stems in summer. Uses/Culture: Beds and borders, specimen, accent plant (texture). Performs best in full sun to partial shade with fertile, humus-rich, moist but, well-draining soil. Prefers areas with cool summers. Germination requirements: Germination occurs under cool, moist conditions following a 4-6 week period of cold stratification. Best sown from November to March direct, to a cold frame or unheated greenhouse for germination to occur naturally in the spring.
