Artistically, I consider the trays to be a framed branch. The frame has a simple, square edged, flat face. However, the branch is hand shaped and sits lower than the frame. The bottom of the "reservoirs" are mildly textured and then we char the entire reservoir. They are made from American Black Walnut and are finished with clear, low sheen lacquer. Branch Tray Care Tips: Your branch tray has been finished with lacquer. Simply, use a damp cloth to clean and then dry. Also you may use furniture polish, like Pledge, about once a month. Furniture polish protects against wear because it reduces friction, so objects tend to slide over the surface rather than digging into it. It also increases the sheen and makes the wood appear richer.
