While most of the business world seeks to produce things faster, we seek to produce things better. Hand sewing is superior to machine sewing. Machine sewing commonly uses the "lock stitch." If just one loop of a lock stitch is broken, the other side will automatically be loosened. Often this process of unraveling will continue until the entire product is ruined. Hand sewing in the time honored manner will not unravel if one loop is broken. Though slower, hand sewing is superior to machine sewing. It will give your product years of wear and service. With hand sewn leather you get a one of a kind, quality product that will stand the test of time. Time honored methods produce time honored products - experience the difference! At Rose Anvil, we do not compromise on materials. We only use the highest quality raw materials in everything we do. When we first started, we made a choice to not make mediocre products, but to make high-end products from the best materials we could get our hands on. Horsehide is an extremely dense, non-porous leather. Until the end of the 1930's horsehide was the leather of choice for products that required extreme durability. One of the more notable properties of horsehide is its natural ability to repel moisture. This is due to the dense cell structure of the hide thus limiting its porosity. Horsehide is also much stronger than cowhide. This belt will last a lifetime. Note: All leather good distress uniquely. When you receive your belt, it may have certain distress marks from how it was packaged. As you handle, bend and use your belt, it will distress in a way unique to you, increasing it's uniqueness.
