The Mentalist is a tv series that follows Patrick Jane, an independent consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Using skills from his former career as a successful, yet admittedly fraudulent, psychic medium he helps a team of CBI agents solve murders. But Patrick Jane's involvement with law enforcement is to track down the serial killer known as Red John, the man responsible for the murder of his wife and daughter.
