DESCRIPTION

Cajeput essential oil is steam distilled from the Melaleuca Cajeputi tree, also known as the white wood tree. This tree is in the same genus as tea tree, and shares many qualities and properties with tea tree.

Cajeput essential oil is strong and camphorous and is most commonly used in aromatherapy to soothe respiratory ailments. Also, Cajeput may be used in a diffusor during cold and flu season to curb ailments. For skin care, the oil is an astringent and is used to benefit oily skin types. Aromatherapists apply Cajeput topically to assist with stiff and sore muscles, and joint aches and pains.

Cajeput essential oil is an excellent addition to a first aid kit, as the oil is recommended for burns, cramps, earache, headache, muscle pain, and toothache.

*Note: When used topically, Cajeput essential oil must be diluted as the oil applied neat may be irritating to the skin.
