Our quilting ancestors knew how to create spectacular quilts using simple blocks. This one, made in 1920, showcases a variety of pink fabrics with dramatic touches of black and navy. Just a few half-square triangles take these nine-patches to a new level as they twist and turn to create a latticed secondary pattern.
