In a simple scene suggesting the meditative calm of the morning, a single pink tulip lays against the rough material of a paint-flecked artist's stool on white floor. From a distance, the Impressionistic brushstrokes blur to form a semi-photographic image, but, up close, it's easy enough to relax into observing the details of each soft stroke, revealing the artist's personal touch and the care that went into the choice of each mark and hue.
In the traditional Victorian practice of assigning symbolic meanings to flowers, pink tulips were associated with caring and affection, and it's easy to picture a flower like this as a visible reminder of the presence of angels and their care and guidance for us in our every aspect of our lives.
Who doesn't feel better motivated to rise to the challenges of each new day knowing that your guardian angel is on your side?
To the truly spiritual, God's presence can be found in the smallest of things and the quietest of moments. A unique piece of art that touches you can serve to focus your mind in prayer or meditation on the blessings all around us. The sense of peace captured in "Angel Kiss" is an invitation to slow down and appreciate the beauty around us and know we are safe and secure in God's love.
