Three young purple tree collard plants. These are two-three inch tall starter plants in 2.5 inch pots. They will arrive with instructions on how to grow them. You may wish to pot them up into a one gallon pot and grow them for several weeks before transplanting into your garden. We have stuck them straight into our home garden many times from this size and they have grown just fine. Note: this is live plant material, please take into consideration your local weather conditions when ordering. Beware of ordering if they might be left in your mail box during severe hot or cold weather.

Purple tree collards are a perennial vegetable related to collard greens. They can get over eight feet in height and will continue to grow and produce year after year. They can survive temperatures down to around 20 degrees fahrenheit. Most people find that the flavor of purple tree collards is superior to traditional collard greens. They also tend to be more disease and pest resistant. They are very productive. In addition to humans, chickens and ducks love to eat tree collards- their egg yolks will turn a brilliant orange. Deer also enjoy tree collards (make sure they are protected)!

If there is a defect with your order please take photos and contact us within 24 hours of arrival. Once you have one plant growing you can take numerous cuttings from it to start more plants.
