Although the fact that they are white seems odd, once you bite into one you will fall in love! When picked small they have a perfect cucumber taste, slightly sweet and absolutely delicious. It is best to pick before they get over 4" long. I have grown some out to almost 8 inches, they turn yellowish and the skin gets tough however they do still taste good. You will find me eating this in the garden for sure. They are so plentiful, every day you will have more to pick! They also grow well on a trellis to save some space. The spines on the cucumber are black hence the name salt and pepper. They are not sharp. Great for pickling, I made some great dill pickles this year.
