Silk Habotai is a lightweight fabric most often used in eveningwear, home decor, and sportswear. The name "habotai derives from Japanese for "soft as down". Habotai is usually referred to as "China Silk", although this name can also refer to inferior polyester versions. Our habotai in pink coral is 100% silk and woven in Korea. The fabric is lightweight and versatile and is most often used as a lining fabric - the silk fibers give this fabric great breathability and absorbency which makes it perfect for lining suits, jackets, and other garments. This is also a great fabric for silk painting!

• Thin and lightweight with a silky, smooth hand. Can be compared to chiffon in its weight and feel, but is nowhere near as sheer
• Satin finish gives habotai a soft sheen
• Silk habotai is perfect for evening wear, and is commonly found in lightweight garments such as lingerie and summer blouses. CARE: Hand wash separately in lukewarm water using a mild detergent. Agitate gently and rinse with cool water after a few minutes. Do not let the fabric soak. Lay flat to dry, do not wring out. Fabric should be washed before cutting.
