T. Rex was an English rock band that was around from 1967-1977, but it was in the early to mid-seventies that the band reached the apex of their success with 14 top-20 UK glam rock hits. In 1977 the singer-song writer and guitarist who formed the band, Marc Bolan, died in a car accident and the band broke up.
