Surface Preparation: Trex Protect tape can be applied to horizontal and vertical surfaces. The surface must be dry and free of debris. For best results, the Trex Protect tape should be installed when temperatures are 50 degrees Fahrenheit or greater. If applied in cooler weather, the rolls should be stored in a dry warm place until needed. If necessary, a heat gun could be used to warm the product to make a watertight seal. Installation: Clean the joist surface, making sure all loose debris (sawdust, dirt, water) is removed from surface. Cut the membrane to the desired length and remove tape backing. Apply tape to all joists, rim joists, ledger boards and beams.
