I bought this authentic blue turquoise Zuni Coyote Fetish in New Mexico in 1983. The small perfect carving, 1.75 X .75 in, is suspended from a beautiful 26 inch 10 mm blue turquoise necklace with a 24 KT gold plated bail. The carver created the coyote head to encapsulate one of the brown matrix inclusions for the right eye, visible in the first photo. The fine authentic carving and gorgeous necklace make an heirloom combination that will please for generations. Turquoise is believed to be a healing gemstone, which is thought to cure an array of physical and mental problems. The coyote in Native American lore is a wise and canny animal, said to convey mental agility and wisdom to the owner of the fetish.
