Women Shawl Navajo Serape Wrap Cape 30% Alpaca
DESCRIPTION
Ancient weaving technique of the Guambiano and Awa South American Tribes are painstakingly reproduced in early 20th Century weaving looms, shortening production of this kind of garments from one every 3 days to 3 per day. The Alpaca threads used are reinforced with Wool or Cotton or Orlon to produce a stronger and more wearable twill that is soft and warm. The beautiful geometric designs are from the North American Navajo Tribe. The Navajo creations woven into the Guambiano and Awa weaving technique produce a wonderful textile, as the 3 tribes participate in a collaborative inter-continental experiment. Hand finished by Navajo and Guambiano single mothers.
