Chevron amethyst is named for the patterns of banded purple amethyst with white and transparent quartz which usually form beautiful designs, as is the case with this 1 ¾" x 1 3/8" oval pendant. I bought this pendant in Paris, but it came, more likely, from deposits in Brazil. Because it is so beautiful, I decided not to hang it on a store-bought chain, but to make my own. I used embossed (etched?) oval pewter beads interspersed with tiny pewter beads. I then added mauve and dark amethyst beads repeating the pendant colors. The one-of-a-kind necklace is 30 ½" long (with the pendant). The faceted oval amethyst beads are hand-cut and thus have different measurements The necklace ends with a complementary ½" D. toggle fastener The necklace will arrive in an attractive jewelry box.
