Navajo silversmith Harrison Jim makes incredible pieces of art. This talented artist was fortunate enough to spend time in the workshop of two great teachers, Tommy Jackson and McKee Platero. When you see Harrison's contemporary work you see the influence of Tommy, and the traditional style definitely has a McKee Platero look. His work involves lots of labor because he starts from scratch, melting scrap silver into ingots, hammering them into shape, using handmade stamps, files, and other tools to create his look. Harrison fills this bracelet with tons of silver work. He begins by created alternating lines of smooth and stamped silver from one end to the other. In the center he places three of the darkest red Mediterranean Coral stones you will ever see. The bracelet is a wonderful example of Navajo craftsmanship.
