Avalanche Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes of Glacier National Park, and there are over 750 lakes in the park, only about 130 are named. It can be reached via the Avalanche Lake Trail with is off the Trail of the Cedars trail and is one of the shorter (4.5 miles RT) hikes with only 730 ft elevation gain. The water level was low, and the day cloudy, but the setting was beautiful and there were two mountain goats scrambling on the rocks above as well.
