I loved the beautiful color in these rocks as I looked down on Avalanche Creek, on the Avalanche Lake Trail in Glacier National Park. The water was clear and cold. An interesting statistic learned about Glacier is that most deaths in the park occur from drowning - people slipping into cold water, or swimming in frigid waters. Given the steepness of the Going to Sun Road and cliffs, I would have thought they were from falling - but perhaps people only get injured.
