Planting Tips: Chard is a tender biennial (producing seed in its second
year). Direct seed as soon as soil can be worked mid-spring throughout
mid-summer. Transplants can be started 4-6 weeks before planting date. Cut
stems three inches above ground leaving center growing tip in tact.
