DESCRIPTION
Grow a garden filled with beautiful Utah Sweetvetch flowers, from freshly harvested Hedysarum boreale seeds. Utah Sweetvetch will produce carmine, pink colored blooms, atop green, bushy foliage. The plants themselves will reach a mature height of roughly 20 to 30 inches tall. As a native species, Utah Sweetvetch can be seen in many parts of the United States, in fields, along roadsides and also in many insectaries and butterfly gardens as well. The plants will attract all sorts of beneficial insects to the garden, and are used in many pollinator mixtures as well. Utah Sweetvetch is grown as a perennial flowering plant. Perennials such as this, will produce a deep root system, allowing the plants to regrow each year after it's initial growth season has ended. If started early enough, Utah Sweetvetch can flower in the first year of growth. If they are started a little later in the season, you can expect blooms in the Spring and Summer of the following year. Utah Sweetvetch will also seed in it's secondary growth season, allowing you to harvest additional seeds for planting the following years to come.
