While pikes were the preferred weapon of the Landsknecht, other polearms were seen as well. The halberd has an axe blade for dealing with unarmored foes or hacking through pikes, a hooked spike for pulling down mounted opponents or shields, and wicked point for punching through ring mail and finding the gaps in plate armor. A Halbardier shouts as he swings his weapon into action in a broad sweeping arc. First Legion created the Landsknechts in this range with idea that they could be recruited to either the French or Holy Roman Empire's army... for the right price!
